“Voices”, by Rev Theory plays over the speakers as the live audience stands to their feet. The building goes almost dark with a spot light shining down onto the stage as “The Viper” Randy Orton appears wearing his newest t-shirt and his wrestling attire. Orton stands poised on the stage looking out into the crowd who are chanting, RKO, at the top of their lungs. Randy’s eyes sink as he looks out into the crowd then begins a slow walk toward the ring. The crowd reaches out to touch Randy but to no avail as “The Viper” continues his slow decent to the ring. Randy picks up a microphone on the top step as he walks up the stairs. No one in the arena is sitting down as Orton enters the ring and waits for his music to stop and chants of, RKO, to subside so he can speak.
Randy raises the microphone to speak then lowers it back down to his side as he takes in a deep breath. The crowd reacts by starting the, RKO, chants once more. Randy’s eyes narrow as he turns his head to look out at each side of the crowd. He takes his free hand and rubs it along his chin in a slow methodical motion as if to think of what he is going to say and how he is going to say it. The crowd begins to quite down and Randy raises his microphone once more, this time ready to speak.
Randy Orton: I have been absent for some time with an injury. While I have been gone much has changed, but a lot has stayed the same. While I had time off I watched what was going on in disgust. An example being, Ken Anderson winning the ROH World Title at Wrestlemania. Since Ken Anderson has been on ROH I have heard nothing but whining and complaining from him. I don’t expect much more than that from him now even as the champion. You see what I expect is that as soon as a number one contender is announced that Anderson is going to do whatever he can to get out of the match instead of facing that person like a man. And when the complaining and whining don’t work he is going to try attacking when the opportunity strikes.
You see Ken, I have been there, I know what is going through your mind. But the difference between you and I, that when it came time for a fight, I didn’t back down. I always faced whoever they decided to put in front of me, and I always came out on top. I am a third generation wrestler Anderson, this business, it runs through my blood. I was born to be a champion and nothing less. While I was gone Alexander Malakian and yourself were just keeping that title warm until I could make my return. Now that I am back Anderson, my sights are on MY World Title.
Anderson I’m not a fortune teller but I can see what is in your future, and it’s only three letters long, R-K-O! I’d start watching my back Anderson because you never know when I’m going to strike. I didn’t get the name “The Viper” by being the pray. When you least expect it I’m going to be there. And when you wake up you are going to wonder what happened to you. But you won’t have to wonder for long because you will know in your mind that is was me. Until I get my title shot Anderson, you won’t be able to sleep, the only thing that will be in your dreams will be me standing over you holding the World Title after I R-K-O you, or punt you in the head. I think I’d be doing the world a favor by shutting your mouth permanently.
Chants of, R-K-O! become so loud Randy has to lower his microphone back down to his side. His eyes narrow and a half smile come across his face. Randy stands almost as still as a statue not moving an inch. Each breath he takes and deep and slow as the camera’s zoom into his face then back out. The crowd slowly starts to calm down and Randy looks around once more to make sure they are done. Randy raises the microphone one more time to continue speaking.
Randy Orton: Starting tonight I am going to go through the entire ROH roster one RKO at a time until I find you Anderson. No one is safe while “The Viper” is on the prowl. Sooner or later I will get my hands on you. Sooner or later you will have to be in the ring and you will be vulnerable. When that time comes I will be there and you will be on the mat before you even know what is happening. Ken I will do whatever it takes to get my title back, don’t underestimate what I will or won’t do. You have no idea the thoughts that go through my mind.
I don’t hear voices that tell me to be kind. I don’t hear voices that tell me to stop when I have inflicted a little pain. You see Anderson the voices that speak to me, they tell me that when I have you down to punt your head in and end your career. They tell me that if I see you in a moment of weakness I take advantage, and when I’m done you don’t get back up. My intention is not only to win the title Anderson but to make sure that person never tries to get to back.
You just happened to be the unlucky one to hold the title. But that makes no difference to me. It would be the same no matter who happened to win at Wrestlemania. Come the next pay per view you will be nothing more than a flash in the pan and I will once again be the World Champion. It will be over in a matter of seconds Anderson. An R-K-O, and a 1-2-3, and you will be looking at the new ROH World Champion!
“Voices” by Rev Theory begins to play over the speakers once more. The microphone drops to the mat below as Orton releases it from his hands. R-K-O! R-K-O! can be heard through the arena as Orton drops to the mat and slides under the ropes. Orton walks slowly and decisively up the ramp to the stage. When Orton disappears the scene fades to black.
