It's a mid October night and the weather out side is beginning to change. The nice warm weather of summer is becoming cooler by the day. The crickets outside serenade the night as the moon and stars light up the darkness making it look like a paradise. Inside of a country home in Kentucky a warm fire is lit and the lights are out lightening the mood. JD and April lay on their couch next to the fire relaxing. As the silence drifts April begins to fall asleep in the arms of JD. Not long after JD begins to drift off to sleep himself. As JD drifts to sleep his dreams go back to the week that he asked April to marry him.
The week started of much like this night. The weather was beginning to change very subtlety outside. JD and April were already living together after a long friendship then committing to a relationship. JD knew that April was the only woman he wanted for the rest of his life and realized that he wanted to marry April. For weeks JD had been planning on how he wanted to ask April and finally found some thing that he thought she would just love. And the weather was just perfect for what he wanted to do. The week went by fast and the weekend had finally come. JD knew that this night would be the night that he would ask her.
JD asked April to spend the day with him and she obliged him. To start off the day JD made April breakfast in bed. After breakfast JD and April went out on a walk in the park where they had a picnic underneath a shaded tree. As the evening moved on April was smiling and JD could tell that he was doing every thing just right. JD told her that he had one last surprise for her and they drove out to an open field. JD sat out a blanket under neath the stars and sat up a candle lit picnic dinner. The two ate dinner and then laid down and looked up at the stars.

I hope you have enjoyed today as much as I have. I'm glad that we just took some time off for each other. We both have busy schedules and I know some times it gets hectic. But you are the only thing on my mind while I'm gone and the only person I want to see when I get back. I look forward to seeing you every chance I get. Today has been like a dream I never want to end. I wanted to show you just how much I love you and appreciate you being in my life. I hope that I accomplished that today.

Thank you so much JD, not just for today, but for every day.You make me feel like I'm beautiful and you show me that too. You make me feel so special. I know that you love me and I love you. It's days like today though that let me see that I have the most wonderful man in the world. You are some one who would do any thing for me and I would do any thing for you.
JD Maverick
Well I'd be lying if I said that I didn't have more reasons for this week and for today. But you probably already knew that. You are the only person who knows what I'm doing before I do it or as I'm doing it. That is one of the reasons I love you so much. because you know me so well. I do have one more thing planned for tonight. But before we get to that there is some thing else I want to do with you. I want to dance with you under neath the stars.
JD walks over to the truck and turns on the cd player. A slow music came out loud. JD walked over to April who stood shocked. JD took her by the hand and led her to an open spot in the field and put his hands around her waist as she put her hands around his neck. The two started to dance to the music underneath the stars. JD looked into April's eyes and she looked back into his. The music only lasted a few minutes but for JD and April the dance seemed like it lasted a life time. At the end of the dance JD got down on one knee in front of April, pulled a box out of his pocket, and looked up at April with a smile.

Ever since you have been in my life you have been the one thing I could never live with out. I found that I could give up every thing for you. When we were just friends I waited painterly getting know you, and that is where I came to appreciate you even more. Then when we took the next step to a committed relationship I just knew that is was right. There is no other way I could explain that. I know that I love you with all my heart and soul, and I know that I want to love you for the rest of my life, so April will you marry me?
For a few seconds April was in shock of what had just occurred, but at the same time tears were streaming down her face. April made a slight nod at JD who was still on the ground. His smile grew wide as he placed the ring on her finger. JD stood up and the two embraced in a hug. April was still crying and smiling as JD let loose of the embrace and smiled back at her. No words were spoken for a long time as the two enjoyed the moment. The rest of the night went by slowly but it was a night that neither would ever forget.
As the dream started to fade away JD woke up and found that April was still asleep in his arms while they were laying on the couch. The fire they had built was mostly gone and the candles were still lit through out the house. JD kissed April on the forehead and she stirred some what but didn't wake up. JD smiled and just watched her sleep for a while before falling back to sleep himself remember over times that they had together.
