Teddy Hart 04/30/2013

A small room with decorative pictures on the wall, a tall potter plant placed at the corners of the walls, and two blue chairs in the middle of the room are seen as the camera comes into focus. In the two chairs sit Jim Ross and Teddy Hart. Jim Ross is holding a stapled sheet of papers in his hands wearing his normal cowboy hat, button up shirt, and slacks. Teddy on the other hand is decked out in a black vest with no shirt underneath, black jeans, and black boots. Jim Ross ~ Ladies and Gentleman, today I am sitting here with Teddy Hart who has been the center of controversy seemingly in every company he has been in thus far. As you may know, Teddy Hart has indeed signed with WWE and will have his first match this week on Heat. I requested this time with Mr. Hart to find out his intentions here in the WWE and his has accepted. Let me say first, thank you for coming here today Teddy. Teddy’s eyes can be seen rolling at the comments of Jim Ross. Teddy relaxes in the chair with his arms on the arm rest and feet extended and crossed. Teddy’s eyes closed and finally opened and looked the way of Jim Ross. A slim smile barely noticeable crossed his face. Teddy Hart ~ Jim, thank you for showing me the respect I deserve even though you are doing this because one of the higher ups told you to do it and you are afraid if you don’t show me respect I’ll knock that ridiculous cowboy hat off your head and make more than one side of your face not work. I know you are going to ask me questions of why I have a problem with management and why I am acting the way I have been acting, so let’s get on it with it so I can get back more important things. A slight show of fear crossed Jim Ross’s face but was soon replaced with the professional confidence that he is known for. Teddy’s eyes never left Jim Ross’s face and the tension in the air could be felt. Jim reached over and took the glass of water next to him and took sip before sitting it back down. He took a deep breath and tried to relax once more before asking his first question. Jim Ross ~ Your past in this business isn’t a mystery to those who know you Teddy, and neither is your lineage. For those who have had the privilege to actually see you wrestle, they know you have all the talent in the world at your finger tips, but yet you are always at the center of some kind of conflict with the companies you get contracted by. Why does this conflict seem to follow you and how do you expect it to be different here in the WWE now? Teddy’s eyes never wavered from Jim Ross’s eyes the entire time the question was asked. His eyes told a story more so than his words probably could. His face seemed sad and angry his expression that of someone who had aged and realized the things he had done in his past but was trying to do better for his future. Mostly though, there was anger on his face. Teddy Hart ~ Jim, you have been in this business for a very long time. You have seen just about all the greatest superstars and divas come and go. You have been around when the cream of the crop rose to the top and when those who couldn’t cut it packed their bags and headed home never to be heard from again. I’m guessing you have a pretty good idea about what it takes to make it in this business, right? Jim Ross ~ That’s right. Teddy Hart ~ When you look at someone like me, just by outward appearance, you would never think, oh there is the next big star in this business. Then you say, look he is a Hart, maybe we should just give him a chance because of that. In your mind though you already saying even though he is Hart he doesn’t fit the build of what we are looking for. Then you see me compete, and my moves and ability in the ring impress you. Maybe my moves even amaze you. Your thought process goes to, hey, this guy actually has ability, he has the name, but he still doesn’t look… the… part. He just isn’t what we want to represent our company. That is the way it has been my whole life Jim. Everywhere I go, I can go out in the ring and put on the best show of the night, each and every night, I’ll be the one the people come to see, and yet I’m the one who gets looked over because I’m not the typical build for the face of the company. Then people begin to wonder why I get this chip on my shoulder. Why I began to do things that piss people off. There comes a time when someone has had enough and they just can’t take it anymore. That time has finally come for me. I am at my peek in this business and if I am ever going to make a stand to be on the top it has to be now. So, why do I want to be here in the WWE? Why is this time different than all of the other times? I find it simple. I’m done playing games, I’m simply here to prove that I am the best in the business and I’m not going to let anyone including management or the guys in the back get in my way. There is no more reckless Hart out on the circuit. Just a Hart who is ready to go out there and show why he is best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be. Does that answer your question Jim? Jim Ross has a neutral look to his face when asked the question back to him. Instead of meeting Teddy in the eyes because he knew some of his remarks were geared toward him, he looked down at his paper to see which question he should ask next. Jim Ross ~ Where has your family been in all of these situations? How have they tried to help you and do they support what you trying to do now? Teddy takes a short breath and closes his eyes and opens them again, anguish on his face. Teddy looks back to J.R. and steadies himself to answer the questions about his family situation. Teddy Hart ~ My family…they are the reason I am still here. As you may know J.R the Hart family is a very close family and with that they will do whatever they feel they can to help you out. My uncle Brett in particular has been there the most for me. He has come to me many times asking me to clean up my act so that I could carry on the legacy of the Hart family. It’s not that Tyson, Natalya, or David can’t do it, but I am the only one carrying on the Hart family name. For the longest time I refused to listen to my uncle though. I didn’t think he knew what he was talking about. It took me a long time to become clean and to become sober. But when I did I came to the realization that my uncle Brett was right. So, when I came to him in my time of need he didn’t tell me no or just throw me back out on the streets to fend for myself. He took me in and showed helped me to understand what I was doing wrong and helped me to understand what I will have to do to hopefully mend those bridges. My goal now is to make a name that my family can be proud of in this business and I owe that to my family. The look on Jim Ross’s face seemed surprised by the answer of Teddy Hart. He wasn’t expecting something so emotional and good hearted and it could be shown on his face. Jim didn’t mention it further and looked down at his paper before looking back up at Teddy Hart to continue his questions. Jim Ross ~ How do you expect your experience here in WWE to be? Do you think you will make any friends in the locker room? How do you think you will go over with the fans. The line of questioning was beginning to annoy Teddy and the lines on his face were there to prove it. He sat back in the chair and relaxed his arms on the chair only momentarily taking his eyes off J.R but brining them back to him as he got comfortable. Teddy Hart ~ To be honest J.R I don’t know what my experience will be like here. I know what I want to do and the person I want to be though. I intend to be the World Champion and I intend to bring prestige back to the Hart name. Will that win me any friends in the back, I don’t know. Will the fans agree with everything I do and say, probably not. But the fact is this J.R, each and every night I will go out to that ring and I will put on the best show of the night and I will win. And I will keep winning until I win that title and keep winning still. Jim Ross ~ Okay, well you will get you chance to prove what you have come here to prove starting with your first match on Heat. What are your thoughts on your opponents you will be facing? Teddy lets his eyelids lower just slightly and stares at Jim Ross. The smile that was on his face was now gone and a look of hunger and anger taking it’s place. Teddy closed his eyes all the way for just a moment before opening them again and looking at the camera. Teddy Hart ~ My thoughts on my competitors. I guess this is what the interview has come to finally huh. You had to run out of the hard-hitting questions at some point and now we are going to take this into the normal interview the fans want to hear. I’ll bite J.R. I’ll give you want you want. Truthfully I only know two of the opponents in this match. The other two I don’t know. I know this, they aren’t in my league and when the time comes tomorrow night, it will only be the beginning of my dynasty here in the WWE. And for you Jim, I think this interview is over. Teddy Hart stands up from the chair while Jim Ross remains sitting. He doesn’t walk over to shake the hand of Jim Ross or even bother to look at him. Teddy Hart just takes the microphone from his vest and walks away from the camera ending the interview.
