Get Ready To Fly is heard through the arena which brings the crowd to their feet and instant boos erupt. Walking out onto the stage is AJ Styles dressed in a black suit, with a white dress shirt, black tie, black dress pants, black dress shoes, and a pair of black glasses. Walking only a few steps behind AJ Styles is Ric Flair who dressed in a similar suit only grey in color. Noticeably missing though were the beautiful ladies that normally accompanied them to the ring. In their place were the disdain looks on both AJ’s and Ric’s faces. AJ and Ric walked with a purpose to the ring ignoring the crowd at ring side. As AJ and Ric climbed the steps the both picked up microphones. Once in the ring they both stood in the middle and waiting for the crowd’s reaction to simmer down before they began to speak.
Ric Flair
It has been a very long few weeks for AJ and myself. You see in these past few weeks we have seen the degeneration of the 4-Horsemen one by one. First Desmond Wolfe couldn’t handle the pressure of being a Horsemen so we had to get rid of him. No more than a week later Kaz decides that this isn’t where he is supposed to be, so again we had to get rid of someone. So then we were down to two. Ken went and got himself arrested and wasn’t around for a couple of weeks. Then when he shows up he teams with AJ against the Tag Champions. And of course Ken fakes and injury the first week, the second week he attacks AJ from behind, and that leads up to today.
I look at like this, none of them could handle not being in the spotlight. All three men knew that AJ was the center piece of the Horsemen, and there was reason for that. And don’t worry, I’m about to tell you exactly why AJ Styles shines above all others in this company and all the companies all around the world. In this sport there are three types of men. The first type are the guys who come into this business with dreams of being great, but never make it there. The second type of guys, are the guys who come into this business and dream of being great, and succeed but never had that something that put them above all the rest.
And the third type of men, are those of dream of being great, achieve being great, and then go on to be remembered in the annals of wrestling history because they came out and put on the best show, now just at pay per views, but every show, and they made the crowd stand on their feet in amazement. They are the reason you people buy tickets to come and watch this show. Those men wear the best clothes, drive the best cars, fly in jets, have the best looking women in every town, and most importantly of all, they are the type of guys that this business is proud to call a champion. In this sport there have been very few people who have achieved that status and rest assured there will continue to be a short list of people who make it. I’m here to tell you people and the guys in the back, that AJ Styles is one of those men who have made that list already! That is why people are jealous of AJ Styles.
As Flair got done speaking the fans were still on their feet and weren’t sure to think of what Flair had to say. On the one hand it was cocky but at the same time it was the truth. Mixes of boos and WOOO’s were heard through the crowd. AJ’s expression had yet to change but Ric’s had grown a smile. Soon the crowd grew silent and this time AJ Styles raised the microphone to speak. AJ lowered the microphone though and took the glasses he was wearing and moved them on top of his hair that had blonde streaks in it. The camera zoomed in then and you could see the intensity in AJ Styles eyes.
AJ Styles
Ric, I want to thank you for what you had to say right there. It seems as though that you are the only person around here that I can trust. But you know Ric, I can’t give all the credit to myself, at least not anymore. You see as great as I was, I didn’t realize that greatness until you took me aside and showed me just how great I am and helped to bring it out of me. When you look back at the career of Ric Flair, Ric you are the reason why many of the guys who are stars are what they are. You went in the ring with them and made them look better than they could ever dream of. Through the years you have helped many young talents become superstars in this sport. And now you have decided to take me under your wing and help bring me to the potential that I can be and so much more.
Now as Ric had to say we haven’t had the best few weeks that is obvious to anyone. We have had to shred some of the dead wait that was keeping us down. And then the one guy I called a friend decided that he wanted to turn his back on me for a shot at the ROH World Championship. Ken, you know I’m talking about you. I can’t say I wouldn’t have done the same if I were in your position. I actually admire you for having the guts to do what you did. But you want to know the one mistake you made Ken, you attacked me! You wanted to make a statement, well you made me one, and this week I see that you aren’t here to back it up. But rest assured Ken, next week I will get my hands on you before Wrestlemania.
Ken, you were one of my best friends here. I thought I could trust you. I guess that I was wrong. What you did I never would have expected and I guess that is why it went as well as it did for you. Next week Ken, I have already talked with management and you can bet that I will get my hands on you. And for your sake Ken you better hope I leave enough of you so that you can make it to Wresltemania to even compete for the title. Next week is not going to be a wrestling match, no, it’s going to be a war. And Ken, just like Ric said, I’m going to put on a show case that will make every one stand on their feet.
Mix chants ring throughout the arena for AJ. Mostly boos but some cheers are heard. AJ and Ric stand in the middle of the ring almost motionless letting the fans do what they have to do before they stop chanting. As the fans seem to finally calm down Ric puts his hand on AJ’s shoulder and whispers something in his ear. AJ nods and Ric Flair takes a step in front of AJ and straightens out his jacket before raising his microphone.
Ric Flair
We have talked about the past few weeks and what is going to happen next week. I was talking with AJ earlier when I heard about this match. And then I went and saw and old friend of mine, maybe everyone knows him, Arn Anderson. Arn I have to say you and I have been friends for so many years that I have lost count! But you know that you are sticking your nose in business that it has not place being! I knew one day you would find that one guy who you thought would take your place. And I’m happy that you found that guy, but do you think it was a wise idea to stick him in the ring with the guy who is taking my place! Have you gone insane?! AJ is going to rip that kid apart! Arn, I love you brother, but you know me, I told AJ to spare no expense when it came to this young punk he has to wrestle this week.
AJ Styles
That’s right Ric, I will spare no expense with this kid. Frankly I don’t know what has been going on with me the past few weeks but it’s time for AJ Styles to show the world why he was the former and future ROH World Champion. Austin Aries, I haven’t had the pleasure of wrestling you in a ring yet. I have heard of what you can do though and I respect your skills. But, your skills, no matter how good they may be will do you no good in the ring with me. I have a point to prove this week on ROH and thanks to Arn it has to be you that I have to make that point to. My road to Wrestlemania has begun and this week marks the first win. Austin Aries, prepare yourself for The Phenomenal AJ Styles!
AJ and Ric drop the microphones to the mat and pose for the crowd who is still sending out mixed reactions for AJ Styles and Ric Flair. AJ and Ric leave the ring after posing for the crowd and walk slowly back up the ramp both with looks of deadly intent on their faces. As AJ and Ric make their way to the back the camera pans out through the crowd and then goes to black before cutting to a commercial break.
