AJ Styles
Friends, brothers, we are gathered here today to not grieve but to celebrate. In front of us is a closed casket which symbolizes the death of the men we were before Ric Flair brought us together and showed us the men we were meant to be. Today we lay to rest our past selves so that we may move on in our future and take our rightful place on top of the mountain. For we were lost but now we are found. Tonight on ROH marks the beginning the of a new era, the era of The Four Horsemen. You see being a Horsmen isn't just something that is handed to you, it is something that must be earned. It's a lifestyle that you live day in and day out inside and outside the ring.
I remember before Ric Flair I was just this guy who loved to please the fans and make them happy. I did what ever the company asked me to do no matter how much I didn't like it. I was such a push over. I knew I had more talent than anyone in the locker room but yet I let guys beat me that had no business in the ring. I was beginning to get to a point where I doubted my self and wasn't sure if I wanted to remain in this sport for much longer. Ric Flair came in though and talked with me and showed me the light. Since that night that I talked with Ric I have been able to hold my head high when I walk to the ring. I have started living the life that I should have years ago. And what a feeling it is. Not only have I started living life to the fullest, but I have met four brothers who I know I can count on to help me out when I will need them, four brothers who want the same as me, four brothers that share the same passion for this business as I do. Would anyone else like to share their story?
As AJ looked at everyone you could see every one faking tears. Ken Anderson stood up and walked up to the podium and gave AJ a hand shake and a hug. AJ stepped down from the podium as Ken took his place behind the podium and now looked out to every one. Ken wiped his eyes like he was whipping away a tear then rested his elbows down on the top of the podium. As he leaned his head toward the microphone you could see him chewing a piece of gum in his mouth and an expression on his face as if he were wondering how he wanted to say what was about to come out of his mouth.
Ken Anderson
Uhm, first off I just want to say for those of you who don't know who I am, my name is, MIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSTTTTTT
ANDERSON.
Secondly, I just want to say thank you to AJ for those words. You are right AJ, today we celebrate. For so many years all of us at one point or another have been asked to lay down for someone that we knew shouldn't be winning a match. We all pandered to the fans and let our dreams just pass by day after day. It was enough to make you sick and want to leave the business.
Ric met with me at a restaurant one day after a phone call I received from him. I wasn't sure what the great Ric Flair could possibly want to talk with me about. So when we sat down Ric asked me was I happy with my career and did I have any plans. When I told him I wasn't and I didn't know, that's when he said son, I have been in this sport for many years. I have watched kids come and go. There are very few who I think have the talent to make it and you are one of them. I have some thing I want to bring back to wrestling. There are three other guys who I am looking at also and I want you to be apart of us, and I want to know if you are interested in joining me in this. Who was I to say no to Ric Flair. When the man offers you any thing, you take it. So here we are today and since I took Ric up on his offer things have turned around for me. New suits, lots of money, good looking girls, parties, and the list goes on and on. And it's not just a one day thing, or just at the arena, it's twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. And for that I say thank you Ric for talking with all of us and allowing us to be here today to bury what was of our past. Thank you all for listening.
As Ken finished up his speech the guys were once again wiping away at their eyes to make it look like they had tears. Ric was the only one with a smile on his face and clapping for Ken. Next to stand up was Frankie Kazarian who walked up to the podium as Ken was walking down to take his seat next to Desmond Wolf. Kaz gets behind the podium and situates himself before taking a deep breath and looking at the guys in the pew. Kaz leans in just a little bit so the microphone is closer to his mouth and starts to talk.
Frankie Kazarian
Guys, those are two tragic stories that turned into a great endings. My story starts out much the same as you guys stories, I was in TNA where they were making me be this Suicide character where I had to wear this full body suit and mask. I mean have you seen my face, this shouldn't be hidden from all the girls. That right there should be a crime. And if that wasn't bad enough, I was being kept in the lower mid-card status for years. It was so depressing to have to be behind that mask all the time and not be able to show the world who was the man that made people stand up in their seats every time I came out to the ring.
I was so frustrated that I didn't know what to do. It seemed like every day was the same thing. I would come out put on the show of the night and be so under appreciated. Then Ric came along. He had that smile on his face that he seems to always have when he has something on his mind. He walked into my locker room after one of my matches and said he wanted to talk with me about my career and where it was going. And much like AJ and Ken said Ric made sense to me he talked to me about my career. When he offered me a spot in the Horsemen at first I was surprised but then I knew it would be what was best for my career. I mean how many men get that opportunity to learn from the best. Heh, now that I'm on ROH with AJ, Ken, Desmond, and Ric it's time to renew my career and show everyone just what skills I really have.
Ric had the same smile on his face as he had from the beginning of the funeral and was clapping at the speech. AJ who was sitting next to Ric was also clapping and nodding his head. Ken and Desmond did the same as they were all looking up at Kaz. Desmond was next to stand and go the podium as Kaz stepped down and joined Ken in the pew on the right. Desmond took off his sunglasses and placed them on the pew. He looked over at Ken and Kaz then over at Ric and AJ before looking down at the casket.
Desmond Wolfe
You know, I started at TNA about a year ago and when I started there I wanted to take out the best. That was my goal, and that is what I did. But instead of getting put into the main event like I should have I got stuck into the mid card status and forgot about. It was like no one took me seriously. Night after night I went out and won match after match. I never cared what the fans thought of me but it was unfair how management was over looking me for guys who were losing. They just didn't want their precious champion to lose his title to some one better. And for those of you who watched me which I'm sure is a lot of you, you know I am always up for listening to a good deal.
Nature Boy Ric Flair gave me a call one day and said Desmond I'd like to take a minute of your time and ask you a few questions. It would have been any one else would have just told them to fuck off and hung up the phone, but for Ric Flair I said sure. So Ric and my self talked for a few minutes and it came to Ric offering me some thing I couldn't refuse. I have watched wrestling for a very long time and I know as well as every one in the business knows who Ric Flair is and why he is one of the best. If Ric Flair offers you a chance to live his kind of life, the fame, the fortune, and the girls who in their right mind would say no to that. So I said Ric, you have your self a deal and I'll see you on ROH. I can say this, Ric has lived up to his promise since I have been in ROH.
Once Desmond Wolfe finished up his speech he picked up his glasses and placed them back over his eyes. The guys all clapped at his speech and Desmond stepped down from the podium and rejoined Kaz and Ken in the pew to the right. After he sat down that mean there was only one man left to speak. Ric Flair stood up and straighten his suit and did his strut up to the steps of the podium. Once Ric reached the podium he ran his hands over his hair. The same smile he had on his face the entire time only got bigger as he leaned over toward the microphone to speak.
Ric Flair
Today I listened to the stories of four men, but not just four men, but four of the greatest men in the sport of wrestling today. They told you idiots how you kept them down, how you under appreciated them, how management put them to the side while others were given top spots when they didn't deserve it. I have been in this business for more years than I care to count. But what I learned a long time ago is that if you want to succeed in this business not only do you have to compete like the best but you have to live like the best. These four men already compete like the best, though there is more for them to learn, but now I am going to teach them about the other aspects of this business. I have been watching for years as guys came and went because they didn't have what it took to be the best. I knew there would come a day though that I would find the next generation.
Today is about burying the past where they weren't the best and starting to live the present where they are. Today is about four men who were at one time enemies or didn't know each other becoming friends, but not only becoming friends but brothers. These four men have the same passion for the business that we had all those years ago when the Horsemen first began. That is why I'm proud and honored to call these four men the NEW 4-HORSEMEN!
Like the great Arn Anderson said before, careful what you wish for because you might just get it. With the Horsemen reunited you can bet that there will be some changes on ROH. People will get hurt. We don't play games. We don't lay down for anyone. These four guys will tear threw the entire ROH roster until we get what we want. There are a hole slew of titles on ROH and you can put your money on it that the Horsemen will have gold around their waste soon enough. It is just a matter of time. ROH roster, consider this a warning that the Horsemen are here and that means only one thing..we will be styling and profiling while we are kicking ass and taking names.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
As Ric finishes his speech we see AJ, Ken, Kaz, and Desmond get up from the pew and walk in front of the casket. The four men all have smiles on their face as Ric Flair holds up four fingers. After Ric holds up four fingers we see the new Horsemen hold up the four fingers with smiles on their faces. The camera begins to zoom out and eventually fades to black as the scene ends.
